Eli Lotar (1905-1969, b. Romania), was a French photographer, cinematographer and film-maker. A friend and associate of Germaine Krull and Andre Kertesz, Lotar published his photographs in reviews such as Vu, Jazz, Vari?t?s, Bifur, and Minotaure. He participated in the 1929 Film
und Foto exhibition in Stuttgart, and became part of the New Vision-orientated group loosely described as the 'Paris School'. His best known work is photographs of the slaughterhouses of La Villette.
