Gibson, Ralph - GUP
Ralph Gibson (born 16 January 1939) is an American art photographer best known for his photographic books. His images often take fragments with an erotic and mysterious undertone. Gibson currently lives in New York and travels regularly to Europe and Brazil.
The magazine GUP (Guide to Useful Photography) regularly publishes a so-called Extra Edition for its subscribers only, which is not commercially available. They contain an extensive interview with the photographer and are illustrated with full-page photos. Gibson photographed in Lisse on the initiative of Leica Nederland.
