From the 1950s until his death in the crash of TWA Flight 800 in 1996, Puhlmann worked with most of the top models, stylists and designers in the fashion industry. Features arresting portraits of Isabella Rossellini, Cindy Crawford, Cheryl Tiegs, Mel Gibson, Calvin Klein, Jerry Hall, Naomi Sims and many others.

 

Rico Puhlmann (25 June 1934 – 17 July 1996), was a German fashion photographer.
Puhlmann was born in Berlin in 1934. He studied fashion design, art design, and art history at the Berlin University of the Arts (Hochschule für Bildende Künste Berlin) from 1951 to 1955.[1]
He worked for magazines such as Constanze, Burda, Vogue, Glamour, GQ, Harper's Bazaar. He photographed people including Isabella Rossellini, Cindy Crawford, Mel Gibson, Richard Avedon, Suzy Parker, Cheryl Tiegs, Naomi Campbell, Hildegard Knef and Agnieszka Kotlarska.
Puhlmann moved to the US in 1970, and died on 17 July 1996, on TWA Flight 800 from New York to Paris, 12 minutes after take-off.
