Frans Molenaar (Amsterdam, May 11, 1940 - there, January 9, 2015) was a Dutch couturier.

Frans Molenaar partly grew up in Zandvoort and lived with his parents and brother Bobby (Or Bobbie) in the De Wittstraat. After his studies at the Vocational School for Tailors in Amsterdam (1955-1958) Frans Molenaar did an internship with Charles Montaigne in Paris (1959-1960) [2] and worked, among others, at the fashion house Nina Ricci (1964-1966). In 1967 he opened his first business in the Netherlands at Van Baerlestraat in Amsterdam. He released a new collection every six months.

Frans Molenaar groeide voor een deel op in Zandvoort en woonde met zijn ouders en broer Bobby (Of Bobbie) in de De Wittstraat. Frans Molenaar liep na zijn studie aan de Vakschool voor Kleermakers in Amsterdam (1955-1958) stage bij Charles Montaigne in Parijs (1959-1960)[2] en werkte onder andere bij het modehuis Nina Ricci (1964-1966). In 1967 opende hij zijn eerste zaak in Nederland aan de Van Baerlestraat in Amsterdam. Elk half jaar bracht hij een nieuwe collectie uit.
