Following the blazing success of Martin Parr's edition of the experimental large-format "Fashion Magazine," which featured work shot exclusively by Parr, even down to the ads, and sold out almost immediately upon publication in the UK last year, Magnum Photos presents the next instant collector's item in this series, featuring work by the New York fashion photographer Bruce Gilden.~In this edition, Gilden works together with the "New York Times" Fashion Editor Anne Christenssen to investigate the Seven Deadly Sins of Fashion: Power, Fame, Addiction, Body Worship, Fantasy, Illicitness, and Exclusivity. The seven sections will not be bound together like a traditional magazine, but will instead come in one large and sturdy plastic envelope.
Contributors include Anna Piaggi ("Italian Vogue"), Bob Colacello ("Vanity Fair"), Azzedine Alaia, Hedi Slimane (Dior Homme), Hubert Selby Jr. Ingrid Sischy ("Interview"), Chantal Ross (Yves Saint Laurent), Viktor & Rolf, Jean-Paul Gaultier and Carlo Ducci ("Italian Vogue"). The creative directors are Nicolas Guiraud and Christophe Rinard. The publication will have a major New York City launch at Milk Studios in June of 2006.
