In the wake of Magellan, the Tiki Yo does not carry in its holds expensive spices but the precious photo prints made by children at each stopover, so that they can see, write, and dialogue through the images. François Perri and Jean-Philippe Auxéméry introduced children around the world to photography through the camera obscura or pinhole, a simple tin can pierced with a hole, into which a sheet of photographic paper has been slipped. The children seized on it to bear witness to their environment, to communicate their hopes: they touch us by the quality of their gaze, by the sense of the imagination that they put into these images. This trip was designed and produced by the Dialogue de l'image association. The exhibition In the wake of Magellan takes place at the Grande Arche in La Défense from December 15, 2000 to January 31, 2001.
